Dawn Fallik

Dawn Fallik teaches beginning and advanced reporting classes. A former medical reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer, she covers medical issues for the Wall Street Journal as well as terrible reality shows for the culture desk. She specializes in investigative reporting.

Professor Fallik is the first English professor to win a National Science Foundation grant under the engineering directorate, according to the NSF.   Fallik and a team of researchers from UD will be investigating illicit mining

A veteran newswoman, Jones has worked in a variety of capacities in newsrooms around the country, including the (Baltimore) Evening Sun, Detroit Free Press, New York Newsday, The Philadelphia Daily News, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and The Washington Post. While at New York Newsday, she was a member of the newsroom team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 1992 for Spot News Coverage.

Jones has served on the board of directors of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and represented the NABJ on the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication for more than 25 years. In addition, she has worked as a senior lecturer at Penn State University and has taught as an adjunct professor at several institutions, including New York, Wayne State and Howard Universities.

Adrianne Flynn is the internships and career development director for the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. She previously directed the Capital News Service Washington and Annapolis reporting bureaus for the Merrill College and had a long career as a government and politics reporter.
